This was kind of a "Step Up" movie but with singing. If you like Glee in any way shape or form you will like this movie.
I thought it was going to suck, but it was surprisingly better than I expected. I think part of what makes it more than it appears is that all the singing is done a capella which makes for interesting listening when they are picking popular songs.
The story line isn't great but it isn't horrible considering the movie is about battling a capella groups. There was a lot more comedy than I was expecting which made the movie watchable.
Favorite Line: "I can see your toner from here"

Zero Dark Thirty
Who doesn't love a good movie where you know the bad guy gets it in the end?
After watching this I want to read more about the SEALs and how awesome they are. They were my favorite part of the movie.
I had heard all the hype about the torture portrayed... maybe I'm jaded but waterboarding wasn't that bad to watch and neither was the other stuff they did. In fact, I think TV shows have worse torture. I guess I was just expecting it to be REALLY bad because of the media.
Oh Well. Anyway, this movie was intense and didn't seem as long as it actually was. I think it was a little over the top in some places where they were trying to make a point but it didn't detract from the movie.
Favorite Line: "Hey, were we supposed to crash that Helo?"
Cross Reference Like-ability: Argo, Navy Seals, Act of Valor

Wreck-it Ralph
Cute movie!
I think parents will like seeing this movie with their children (not too young though). If you and your family like or have liked playing video games then this is a movie worth seeing.
I loved the gamer jokes and the variety of games they displayed. The humor was good. The story was well written, if a bit predictable.
The voice acting was great. I love Jane Lynch in this. She cracked me up and so did her story line.
While this was no 'Finding Nemo,' it was still a good movie worth seeing.
Cross-reference like-ability: If you liked Antz, or Shark Tale, then you would like this movie.
Favorite Line: "She was programmed with the most tragic backstory"

Red Dawn 2012
Red Dawn - Invasion of the US by a communist regime.
I loved the old movie with Patrick Swayze et. al..... and it was a million times better and MORE BELIEVABLE than this new movie.
I can only blame poor writing on this movie. First you want to kill one of the main characters yourself... so it's hard to feel anything but homicidal about him. Chris Hemsworth was the only bright spot in the movie and used to be a soldier so it gives some credence to the things he does. However, he somehow trains teenagers to be awesome hand to hand fighters and weapons specialists in a tiny amount of time.
First of all, they used ammo like it was free flowing in the water. Also, they had amazing bomb making abilities and took guerrilla warfare to a whole new level.
In the first movie, they were practically starving, fighting for their lives, using sneaky dirty tactics that inexperienced people use when fighting. It made sense. This movie takes the food and fighting situation out of it. By the time some of the crew die, you realize you don't care that much. They really focused too much on the romantic side and the CGI explosions.
It's sad when the lone scene of Jennifer Grey in the first movie hiding a grenade on herself so when they move her body she can take a few with them, is more moving image than all the 'moves' the wolverines did in this movie.
Cross reference like-ability: If you like Snow White (bad movies with Chris Hemsworth), then you would like this movie
Favorite Line: "Marines don't die, they just regroup in Hell."
